Jost Family

Dale and Lisa Jost Family
We are Dale and Lisa Jost. We were married in 1981, and realized soon after we were married that we didn’t have the wisdom within ourselves to make many of the decisions we faced. Consequently, we yielded ourselves to His all-knowing wisdom, asking Him to make the final decisions in every area of life.

One of the most obvious areas was the number of children we should have. We believe that God is the Creator of life, that He created Lisa’s womb and that He was able to ‘fill’ it as He deemed best. We will never regret that decision!! He blessed us with 11 conceptions, and each of those conceptions is now a precious child in our home.

Jesse is 28, our oldest son is married to Heidi Wahl Jost. Jonathan is 24 and married to Sharla Roby Jost, Josiah 22, Joel 20, Emily 18, Jeremiah 16, Joseph 14, Joshua 13, Amy-Joy 10, Hannah-Grace 8 and Judah 6 yrs. We know that He has given us all the children He ordained for us, as Lisa lost her womb to a hysterectomy during life-saving surgery at the birth of Judah. We have no regrets, no remorse over trying to control the size of our family, and each of our children know that they are a much-loved blessing from God! ‘Lo, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. LIke arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.’ Psalm 127:3

We love to encourage other Christians to trust the Lord in this area. They will find only blessing and strength from the Lord as they seek to honor Him with their lives. ‘Without faith it is impossible to please God…’ Hebrews 11:6. God is ultimately wise, loving and knows the very best path for our lives to take. Any area that is yielded to Him will only prosper in the truest sense of the word! We have the priviledge as Christians to raise our children as disciples that will influence the world for Christ! What an awesome responsibility and one that we do not take lightly.

We can testify that God has met our every need. He has provided our family with a home in the country with the use of 170 acres; animals that meet our needs for meat; milk and eggs; a spacious home to live in; clothing, food and material items that make our life much easier! It is a lot of work to cook for 13 people 3 times a day, but we love it and it can be fun! When the whole family works together, it is amazing how much can be accomplished! Family unity builds such security in a child, and they feel strong knowing that they are not alone.

We also were directed by the Lord to homeschool our children. They have been protected from many harmful influences because of this, and each of their hearts belongs to us! That is our deepest desire as parents, according to Malachi 4:6, ‘And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.’ We have learned so much right along with our children, and it is our responsibility to guard and protect these growing minds. All truth belongs to God, and we desire for our children to see life from His perspective.
